Doha, May 20 (QNA) – Qatar General Organization for Standards and Metrology (QGOSM) celebrated World Metrology Day 2025 under the theme “Measurements for all times, for all people.”
HE Chairperson Eng. Mohammed Al Musallam emphasized that accurate measurements ensure social justice, transparency, and sustainable development, impacting daily life in food quality, medicine safety, energy efficiency, and commerce reliability.
Anthony Donnellan (BIML) and Dr. Martin Milton (BIPM) highlighted the 150th anniversary of the Metre Convention and BIPM founding, noting progress in measurement standards and the vision to base the International System of Units on fundamental constants.
They also noted the 1955 establishment of the International Organization for Legal Metrology (OIML) to unify measurement standards globally, ensuring consistent national laws and regulations.
