The Northern Taurid meteor shower will light up Qatar’s skies around 12 November 2024, reaching its peak on the night of 11-12 November. While the Taurids are known for producing bright, fireball-like meteors, their overall frequency is lower compared to other showers like the Perseids. The Taurids are the remnants of comet 2P/Encke, and although the meteor shower is visible across the globe, its radiant lies near the Taurus constellation. To catch the best view, it’s recommended to be in a dark location away from city lights, ideally after midnight when the constellation is highest in the sky the moon’s 84% illumination that could obscure some fainter meteors, the Taurids’ large and bright meteors, known for their slower movement, will still offer a spectacular sight .
